Doc Edge Festival returns in 2026 for its 21st edition - a major coming-of-age moment for Aotearoa’s premier documentary festival and an exciting opportunity for filmmakers across the screen sector.

Submissions are now open via FilmFreeway, with early bird entries closing on 30 September 2025.

Recognised as one of the most prestigious documentary festivals in the Asia Pacific and an Oscar®-qualifying event for both short and feature documentaries, Doc Edge is an important launchpad for local and international projects, particularly those with Pacific stories or impact-driven themes.
