Greenlit Invites Expressions of Interest for Sustainability Managers Training
Greenlit is now inviting Expressions of Interest for its inaugural Sustainability Manager Training.
Greenlit is the New Zealand screen industry's sustainability body. This three-day course is designed for experienced screen professionals - typically 5+ years' industry experience, at coordinator level or above - who want to develop the knowledge and practical skills to work as a Sustainability Manager on New Zealand productions.
On completion, participants will be equipped to:
- Carbon footprint a production using the Greenlit Carbon Calculator
- Develop a production-specific Sustainability Action Plan
- Report to international sustainability frameworks (BAFTA Albert, NZSPR)
- Apply change management practice in an on-set context
Graduates will receive a Greenlit Certificate of Completion and join a peer network of NZ Sustainability Managers. Graduates will also be eligible for placement on productions through the New Zealand Film Commission's funded pilot placement programme. We are exploring formal certification pathways, including potential alignment with international frameworks, to give graduates recognised standing in the industry.
We welcome applicants from any department, and especially encourage applications from Māori practitioners, people based outside Tāmaki Makaurau, and applicants from communities under-represented at senior craft levels.

- Location: Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, and continuing online
- Duration: Three days, and ongoing professional development and support
- When: September (specific dates to be confirmed)
- Cohort: Limited to places to ensure quality of experience
- Cost: Full training scholarship available thanks to the Vista Foundation
- Scholarship support available on application, to help cover travel, accommodation, or other costs associated with attending
