What could your screen project do beyond reaching an audience?

The Māori & Pasifika Impact Producing Lab is an 8-week professional development programme run by Nine Islands Media for Māori and Pasifika screen practitioners in Aotearoa who want to explore that question - and build the skills and strategy to put it into practice.

Impact producing looks at how a screen project can connect with audiences, communities, organisations and decision-makers - from development and production through to release and beyond - creating opportunities for conversation, engagement, action and change.

Across the Lab, you’ll learn the practice of impact producing and apply it directly to your own project, working through impact goals, audiences and stakeholders, partnerships, campaigns and activation, distribution pathways, and ways to understand and measure impact.

You don’t need any previous experience in impact producing. The Lab is designed to build that capability while giving you the space to think strategically about what your project could do in the world.

By the end of the programme, you’ll leave with a developed impact strategy for your screen project, along with practical tools and approaches you can carry into future work.
