
NZ On Air Funding Round Closes with Over $72 Million Requested
NZ On Air receives 166 applications; funding decisions due 24 November - potential projects may follow in 2026.

NZ On Air has wrapped up Round Rua, the second funding round of the 2025/26 financial year, receiving a significant 166 applications across multiple content and industry support categories. The total funding requested exceeds $72.4 million - highlighting strong interest in future screen production activity.
The round closed last week and included:
- 95 Content Production applications
- 52 Content Development applications
- 18 Industry Capability and Discoverability applications
Eligible formats included Drama, Comedy, Documentary, General Factual, Journalism, Children’s and Youth content, Podcasts, and sector support initiatives.
Funding decisions are expected Monday 24 November, with announcements to follow shortly after.
