A full festival programme will be revealed on Monday 14 September, with more information about the films, filmmakers and events that make up this year’s season. We’re busy behind the scenes building the festival and preparing to bring you some of the best short films from Aotearoa and around the world.

Tickets are now on sale for the Show Me Shorts 2026 Opening Nights! Join us as we launch this year’s festival season in our major centres, with a special evening celebrating short films and the filmmakers who make them. Always among the most popular events on the Show Me Shorts calendar, our Opening Nights are a chance to come together and watch World Premieres of some of the best short films from around the world on the big screen. These events regularly sell out, so book your tickets early.
