ShowNews Launches 2026 Screen Industry Health Survey

The survey looks at a range of issues affecting businesses working in or servicing the screen industry. Depending on the type of business, questions cover areas including where work has come from over the past 12 months, payment and contract issues, discounting, skills shortages, local and international work, and experiences with funding bodies and industry organisations.

It also explores the impact of wider industry developments including the Screen Production Rebate, SIWA and AI.

The survey aims to provide evidence about where businesses are performing well, where pressure is being felt and how different parts of the industry are being affected. Responses will contribute to ShowNews’ reporting on the overall health of the screen sector.

Participants are not asked to disclose revenue, profit, earnings, client names or other confidential business information. Some questions ask for broad estimates or ranges, with responses designed to maintain anonymity.

Questions are also tailored to the type of business taking part, so participants will only be asked about areas relevant to their work.

Screen industry businesses are encouraged to take part and add their experience to the wider industry picture.
