The Adventure Film School provides an amazing opportunity for independent and emerging filmmakers to advance their skills under the instruction and guidance of industry-leading professionals. The school has a definite adventure focus.

Think: filming in the outdoors, around and in water, up and down mountains, and in the backcountry - out of the studio and into the wild!

Film Otago are excited to be supporting this year’s Adventure Film School, part of the NZ Mountain Film & Book Festival, alongside Film Queenstown Lakes. Registration is now open for this year’s five-day advanced course.

The course is aimed at people with a little camera experience including advanced amateurs, or starting out professionals, and past two-day AFS students. It suits people who have done some basic filmmaking, know how to run a camera and can do basic editing on FCPX or Adobe Premiere Pro.

The course fee is subsidised by Film Queenstown Lakes and the NZ Mountain Film Festival Charitable Trust, and there are also a limited number of travel grants available from Film Otago Southland to help support regional filmmakers to travel to the courses. Don’t miss this opportunity to hone your craft and create films that could feature in future festivals!
