Applications are now open for the next round of Kahurangi Toi Ātea (KTA), a professional development programme designed to help emerging crew build the skills, confidence and industry connections needed to start a career in New Zealand’s screen industry.

Delivered by experienced industry professionals, KTA combines practical, industry-led training with a unique pathway into paid workplace training on screen productions, giving participants the opportunity to apply their learning in a real production environment.

Whether you’re interested in working in the Art Department, Costume, Make Up, Production, Technical or Post-Production, KTA offers specialist training designed to prepare you for work in your chosen department.

Courses offered this year are:

  • Props, Set Dressing and Specialty Assistant
  • Costume Assistant
  • Make Up Assistant
  • Runner, Cast Driver, Production Assistant
  • Lighting & Grip Assistant
  • Assistant Editor

Successful participants will develop practical skills, gain industry knowledge, expand their professional networks and, for selected participants, have the opportunity to progress into paid workplace training on New Zealand screen productions.
