NZ On Air Announces Round Tahi 2026 Funding Decisions

NZ On Air has announced the funding decisions for Round Tahi 2026.

Round Tahi is the first funding round of the 2026/27 financial year. The round was open to applications covering a range of audiences and genres: Drama, Comedy, Documentary and General Factual, Children, Youth, Journalism, Podcasts, Content Development, Capability and Discoverability. In this funding round we also considered applications for Capability (industry skills and training initiatives) and Discoverability (industry events and awards).

Among the Scripted projects receiving funding are:

  • Day One Shorts 2027 (Connected Media Charitable Trust for RNZ)
  • Ms X 2 (Plus6Four Entertainment for Three)
  • Shortland Street 36/2027 (South Pacific Pictures for TVNZ 2)
  • Wellington Paranormal 5 (The Kitchen Table Productions for Three)

In the Non-fiction category, funded projects include:

  • 7 Days 2027 (Sky Free for Three)
  • Celebrity Treasure Island 8 (Warner Bros. International Television Production NZ for TVNZ 2)
  • Hyundai Country Calendar 2027 (TVNZ for TVNZ 1)
  • Local Democracy Reporting 2027 (RNZ)
  • My Family Mystery 3 (Warner Bros. International Television Production NZ for TVNZ 1)
