Show Me Shorts Film Festival 2026: Official Programme Announced!

The Show Me Shorts 2026 programme has arrived with 65 short films screening at cinemas and community venues across Aotearoa from 7 to 31 October.

Selected from almost 2,500 submissions, this year’s programme brings together ten collections spanning comedy, drama, animation, documentary, horror, science fiction, music videos and films for tamariki. Discover acclaimed shorts from Cannes, Sundance, Venice, Tribeca, Clermont-Ferrand, SXSW and Annecy, alongside 14 world premieres of homegrown films.

Tickets are selling fast for the Show Me Shorts 2026 Opening Nights!

This year’s festival season launches in major centres with a special evening celebrating short films and the filmmakers who make them. Always among the most popular events on the Show Me Shorts calendar, our Opening Nights are a chance to come together and watch World Premieres of some of the best short films from around the world on the big screen. These events are already half full and may sell out soon, so book your tickets early.
