TEQ Talks is bringing together students, emerging creatives and experienced industry professionals for an evening of networking and industry insights on Thursday 13 August at Victoria University of Wellington’s Te Aro Campus.

The event will feature four speakers sharing their experience across filmmaking, visual effects, performance, animation and emerging technologies. The evening begins with networking, drinks and nibbles from 6:00pm, followed by presentations from 7:00pm. An after-party at Havana will continue from 10:00pm.

Speakers

Laura Yilmaz
Filmmaker and cross-disciplinary artist working across animation, games and immersive storytelling, with work supported by the Sundance Institute, the New Zealand Film Commission and Creative New Zealand.

Carrie Thiel
Wellington-based intimacy coordinator, performance director and certified fight director with international screen credits and extensive expertise in safe, consent-based performance practice.

Casey Schatz
VFX Technical Artist specialising in Techvis and Simulcam, with a passion for capturing deep-sky astrophotography.

Ike Hamon
Stunt Coordinator and motion capture specialist with more than 20 years’ experience and over 300 film and television credits. Founder of Motion Arcade, he specialises in bridging physical performance and digital characters.
