And what better place to start than at the top!

National Executive Committee
‍

Please Welcome Our New President – Sally Cunningham!

It is with great pleasure that we announce Sally Cunningham as the newly elected President of the Screen Guild for 2026/27!

Sally has been a Guild member since 2006 and has dedicated many years to the organisation through her involvement with the Wellington Branch Committee and the National Executive.

With a wealth of industry experience, a strong understanding of the Guild and a longstanding commitment to its members, Sally brings valuable knowledge and perspective to her new role.

We're thrilled to welcome Sally as President and look forward to working alongside her as we continue to build a stronger voice for screen crew throughout Aotearoa.

‍

A Special Thank You to Our Outgoing National Executive Officers

As we welcome our incoming leadership, it's equally important that we acknowledge and celebrate those who are stepping away.

Committee service is voluntary, and behind every meeting, discussion, decision and initiative are members who generously give their time and energy to make a difference for others.

This year, we farewell two longstanding Guild leaders whose contributions deserve particular recognition.
‍

Christian Gower – Outgoing President

After two years as Screen Guild President, Christian Gower steps down from the role.

Throughout his presidency, Christian has given countless hours to supporting our members, guiding the National Executive and representing the interests of screen crew.

His dedication, willingness to step forward and commitment to the Guild have been greatly appreciated.

Christian, thank you for your leadership, hard work and everything you've contributed during your time as President.

We're also very pleased that Christian will continue his involvement with the Guild through the Auckland Branch Committee.
‍

Sioux Ferguson-McDonald

After more than 17 years serving as Vice President and a member of the National Executive, Sioux Ferguson-McDonald is stepping away from her national leadership roles.

Seventeen years is an extraordinary commitment to any organisation, particularly one that relies so heavily on the dedication and generosity of its volunteer representatives.

Over those years, Sioux has contributed an enormous amount of time, industry knowledge, guidance and support, helping shape the Guild and its work on behalf of screen crew.

Her longstanding service represents a remarkable contribution to both the Guild and the wider screen industry.

Sioux is truly one of our Guild legends, and we cannot thank her enough for the years of dedication, wisdom and commitment she has given to our organisation and its members.

We wish her all the very best and extend our heartfelt gratitude for everything she has done.
‍
